a Moment for Wisdom…

“Our own life is the instrument with which we experiment with truth.”

Thich Nhat Hanh

Personal Wisdom:

How is your experiment going?

Societal Wisdom:

What is the path of our societal experiment?  Are we going where we need to be going?

a Moment with Sharif…

In the past week, I had significant speaking engagements in Portland (TEDx-Concordia) and in Chicago and Seattle (Green Festivals). In each speech, I say things just a little bit differently – each one is an experiment. I am an experiment.

I know where we need to go as a society. I have a reasonably clear idea of how we’ll get there. I’ve got another 60 years (max) to do my best to make that happen.  I don’t know exactly how to do this, because its never been done before. But, that is no excuse not to act!

So, what’s your experiment? What is the truth of your life experiment?  What does your life matter to the world? Even asking that question of yourself puts you way ahead of the average person… the person who goes through the motions of life, never engaging it fully. Ask yourself how well you engage with the truth. How well tuned is your instrument?
